Patricia Santangelo is a computer illiterate mother of 5 who is being
sued by the RIAA for allegedly downloading songs by "Incubus"
and "Godsmack" (amongst others) illegally via the internet's
P2P networks. She claims she had no knowledge of the downloading
and should not have to pay the $7,500 settlement fee the RIAA is
demanding. She (unlike thousands of others the RIAA has coerced
money from) opted to take the issue to court. Her legal fees in her
battle against the RIAA are currently in excess of $24,000.

"We had one grandfather who had those kids work
off the amount that he paid to settle as a way of teaching them a lesson
and making this a family event." - Cary Sherman, RIAA president
