It's been a great run (22 years!), but all good things must come to an end. It is now TabNabber's turn to say goodbye.
THANK YOU!...To all the tabbers out there that have made this site an amazing resource for aspiring professional amateur musicians.
We're curious and excited to see what the new owners bring to TabNabber.
But we'll dearly miss this site and all of you, so don't be a stranger! We're currently over at BlueSky and SubStack, follow us for more at:

Music Made from Stars The Georgia Institute of Technology recently used Kepler telescope data from two stars in our galaxy to create sounds a national recording artist "Echo Movement". The team used varying brightness levels from the stars as waveforms to create sounds, then cleaned the signal, removing some of the ambient sound before sending audio pitches to the band. The band then looped the sounds and composed them into a four-part harmony.
For the final step, the students used a different binary star (Kepler 10291683) to adjust the timbre even further by adding a tremolo effect. This created a shuddered, natural sound rather than a flat, computerized noise.
The final result is a melody that will be used in the intro of the song "Love and the Human Outreach", which will be released in September. [Hear sample intro]
