Rhythm and Beats Linked to Better Language The ability to follow a beat has been linked to better language skills in children, including speech and reading, according to a new study from Northwestern University. Lead researcher Nina Kraus told Fox News: "The hypothesis is that music education can help language skills, can strengthen skills such as reading, hearing and hearing speech in noise, as well as skills like memory and attention to sound"
